FSDP Cockpit

The objective of the new SAP platform FSDP is to provide a uniform database for the various computing cores of the relevant corporate management disciplines accounting, risk management, profitability analysis and regulatory reporting. The computing cores can only generate the right results for business decisions if the common database is complete and consistent, i.e. available in high data quality. This is also a prerequisite for highly automated, low-cost operation of the enterprise control platform.

A major challenge for the creation of the necessary data consistency and data quality in the FSDP results from the complex data model and the dependencies between the specialized objects. Only if all data related to a transaction or contract is completely stored at the time of processing the computing cores work smoothly and correctly. Another challenge for data management is that in most cases the data comes from a variety of source systems with potentially different technology platforms. Of course, in the ideal case all source systems deliver all data completely and with high data quality - this should always be the target constellation. In practice, it is a long process until this complete consistency can be ensured across all delivery routes, and in many cases there are always data constellations that cannot be corrected by the source systems.

In order to meet these challenges and to provide SAP FSDP users with the necessary means to ensure the required data quality, we have decided, together with our implementation partner Q_PERIOR, to develop a solution for data and data quality management as an official partner of the SAP FSDP ecosystem. With our FSDP Cockpit we offer a user-friendly way to display the data stored in the FSDP in a convenient user dialog and to correct it if necessary. Access is provided via the business objects and object keys known to the department staff, without having to know the underlying technical data model. In addition to manual data maintenance, we provide a set of rules for data quality and consistency checks and automatic data corrections. All cockpit functions are subject to a flexible role and authorization concept and all data changes are documented in a revision-proof, fully traceable manner. A workflow-supported release procedure can be activated as an option. Our cockpit is implemented in close coordination with SAP and the FSDP release planning in strict compliance with all development guidelines and standards. The cockpit is implemented on the basis of the SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAPM) and regularly certified by SAP.

The concrete benefit of our FSDP Cockpit is to further increase the utility value of the FSDP platform. The possibility to edit the business and result data managed in the FSDP in the usual business object logic and in comfortable UIs makes the innovative technology of the FSDP accessible to the employees of the business departments. With our DQ rules and regulations, we ensure that your computing cores accessing the FSDP data can work in a highly automated and error-free manner – and thus provide correct results data for your corporate management.
